Granite Spa Stitch

These spa items can be useful everyday and are easy to care for as they are made of cotton it is very easy to wash and reuse them. Simply put them through the wash, making them very eco friendly. The texture that crochet gives them a light exfoliating characteristic. They are a colourful fun way to add eco friendly and reusable crochet to your household.
What You Will Need: 5 mm hook Abbey Road Cotton Ecru Abbey Road Cotton Light Blue
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations: ch - chain slst - slip stitch sc - single crochet hdc - half double crochet granite - (sc, sk st, ch1)

The Spa Towel: Abbey Road Cotton Ecru (MC)
Abbey Road Cotton Light Blue (CC)
With MC ch 50, Row 1: sc in 2nd chain form hook, *ch1, skip chain, sc in next chain*, repeat * to * to the end
Row 2: turn, ch1, sc in sc, sc in ch1 space, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space*, repeat * to * to last stitch, sc in last sc
Row 3: turn, ch1, sc in sc, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space*, repeat * to * til last two stitches
Row 4 - 57: repeat rows 2 & 3
Finishing Fasten off and weave in ends.
For Border Using CC join at any point, granite stitch around (sc, sk st, ch1), with three sc in each corner. Join with slst.

Gauge 8 1⁄2 granite stitches x 16 rows = 10 cm/4 inches square in (sc, sk st, ch1) turning at the end of each round
Completed size 30 cm x 34 cm

The Wash Mitt: Abbey Road Cotton Ecru (MC)
Abbey Road Cotton Light Blue (CC)
With MC ch 40, Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook, *ch1, skip ch, sc in next chain*, repeat * to * to end
Row 2: turn, ch1, sc in sc, sc in ch1 space, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space*, repeat * to * to last stitch, sc in last sc
Row 3: turn, ch1, sc in sc, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space*, repeat * to * til last two stitches
Row 4 - 34: repeat rows 2 & 3
Fold in half and slst side and bottom together Fasten off and weave in ends.
For Border Using CC with join at joined corner, granite stitch around (sc, sk st, ch1). Join with slst. ch10, slst in same stitch as join.
Finishing Fasten off and weave in ends.

With MC ch 16, Round 1: 3sc in 2nd chain form hook, sc in each ch across with 6sc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation chain, sc in each ch across with 3sc in last chain, join with slst
Round 2: ch1, sc in sc, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next sc space*, repeat * to * to end, join with slst
Round 3: ch2, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next sc space*, repeat * to * end, join with slst in first chain
Round 4 - 32: repeat rounds 2 & 3
Round 33: repeat round 2, at the end of this row change to MC
Round 34: ch2, skip sc, sc in next ch1 space, *ch1, skip sc, sc in next sc space*, repeat * to * end, join with slst in first chain. ch 10, join with slst in same stitch as join
Finishing Fasten off and weave in ends.

With MC ch 12, Round 1: 3hdc in 3rd chain form hook, hdc in each ch across with 6sc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation chain, hdc in each ch across with 3hdc in last chain, join with slst
Round 2: ch3,. skip st, (hdc, skip stitch, ch1) to end, join with slst in 2nd ch Round 3: ch1, (hdc, skip stitch, ch1) to end, join with slst in hdc
Round 4: ch3,. skip st, (hdc in ch1 space, ch1) to end, join with slst in 2nd chain
Round 5 - 12: repeat round 3 & 4, at the end of the last round change to MC
Round 13: ch2, skip hdc, sc in next ch1 space, *ch1, skip hdc, sc in next hdc space*, repeat * to * end, join with slst in first ch
Fasten off and weave in ends.
For String ch 40.
Finishing Weave chain through round 12, then join ends of chain together.
Gauge 18 hdc x 10 rounds = 10 cm/4 inches square in hdc turning at the end of each round
Completed size 12.5 cm x 9 cm
