Le Tour Bag
Updated: Jan 24, 2021

I came up with this pattern as I was watching the Tour de France, and I have named it accordingly. I was in a nag making mood, which happens rather often, but wanted something slightly different, and voila Le Tour bag.
It was a small bag as I was not sure how much yarn I would need.
Once I had made the mesh I wanted to give it more body or strength, so I decided to do a woven look. I made a really long chain and began to weave. the weaving takes some time as I wanted the top to the chain to show. If you are less interested in that then it won't take so long.
I like the contrasting colour but a contrasting texture would also work very well.
So, get hooking and weaving and enjoy!

What You Will Need:

5mm hook
1 ball 4 seasons pure wool entwine 8 ply
1 ball contrasting colour or texture

Le Bag:

Round 2: ch 1, dc in same st as join, dc in next dc, 3 dc in to next dc, dc in to next 20 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc into next 4 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 20 dc, 3dc into next dc, dc into last 2 dc, join with slst;

Round 16: ch 1, turn, hdc into same st as join, hdc in next 9 hdc, sc in each ch of ch 11, hdc in next 20 hdc, sc in each ch of ch 11, hdc in remaining 10 hdc.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Make a chain about 3.5 m long in a contrasting colour or texture. Leave a long tail at both ends. Secure the beginning tail at the join point of row 4.
Weave the chain length through the spaces of the mesh in a spiral fashion. Once this is done secure the other end of the chain to row 15.
If your chain length is too long, undo it to the correct length before securing to row 15.
