Today I am going to provide you with the pattern for the Mauku Mini Bowl that was mentioned in the above post.

Bowls are useful. They keep your frippery bits altogether. Crocheted bowls can also be used as a plant pot cosy, hold an electric tea light candle or just as pure decoration. There are many crocheted bowls in my house and hold a variety of items. Enjoy his bowl to store or organise your house. The bowl will look great in any colour combination that suits your decor.


Difficulty and Terminology: This is an easy pattern and uses US terminology. This pattern is worked with two strands held together From round 5 the stitches are worked back loop only and in a spiral.

What You Will Need: 3.5 mm hook 4 mm hook 1 ball 4 Seasons Pure Wool 8ply in maroon (#41) - Main colour (MC) 1 ball 4 Seasons Pure Wool 8ply in grey (#44) - Contrasting colour (CC) Tapestry needle to weave in ends

Tension: 20 sts/15 rows = 10cm/4 inches square in sc without turning at the end of each round


Sizing: The finished bowl is 6.5 cm wide and 4 cm high.

Abbreviations: ch - chain sc - single crochet slst - slip stitch


The Bowl: Using MC and 3.5 mm hook. Round 1: ch2, work 12 sc into 2nd ch from hook, join with slst. (12 sc) Round 2: 2sc into each sc around; (24 sc) Round 3: *2sc in sc, sc into next sc*, repeat from * to * to end; (30 sc) Round 4: *2sc in sc, sc into next 2 sc*, repeat from * to * to end; (36 sc) Round 5: Work this round in back loop only and change to 4 mm hook. sc in each dc around, slst to join; (36 sc) Round 6: ch1, sc in same st as join, ch1, sk sc, *sc, ch1, sk sc* to end, join with slip stitch. Change colour to CC on the last sc; Round 7: ch2, sk sc *sc in ch1 space ch1* to end, join with slip stitch. Change colour to MC on the last sc; Round 8 - 13: repeat rounds 6 and 7.

Finishing Fasten off and weave in ends
